Our co-pastor, Preston Atkinson, has created a new blog called New Wine, Old Skins. He is a gifted poet (see Poems from a Pilgrim's Plow) and (re)writes many lyrics to the tunes of familiar hymns. Often he writes them according to our sermon texts/emphases. We are grateful to use many of them in our congregational worship. His new blog will be devoted to these songs. If you are looking for songs to accompany a text you will greatly benefit from his creativity.
Let me recommend one song in particular (that I trust he will post soon!). It is entitled "This is Our Savior's Work" to the tune of "This is My Father's World." He wrote it for our communion services and is fantastic. I would recommend anyone use it as a communion anthem.
